How secure is my personal data?
Fort Knox Self Storage processes and protects your data in line with the General Data Protection Regulation 2018. Please see our Privacy Policy for further details.
What is your refund policy?
Refunds can take up to 10 working days to appear in your account. Fort Knox Self Storage is unable to refund to a card other than the one originally used. Where you have paid more in fees than is due at the termination date, we will refund the balance after deducting any payments due to us. The lease portion of our fees will be refunded to you, less any charges.
What about insurance?
Your goods must be insured while in storage. We offer a StoreProtect Policy.
We take great care of our premises and make every effort to protect your stored items. However, certain events, like fire or flood, are beyond our control, so it’s standard practice for self-storage companies to require customers to insure their goods adequately during their stay.
What does our insurance cover?
Our insurance covers actual physical loss or damage to your property caused by: Fire, lightning, explosion, earthquake, storm, flood, burst or leaking pipes, water or liquid ingress, aircraft or articles dropped therefrom, theft accompanied by forcible and violent entry to or exit from the building or unit, riot, strike, civil commotion, malicious damage, and impact by vehicles or railway rolling stock.
If you choose to provide your own insurance, you’ll need to supply a letter or policy from the insurer specifying:
- The sum insured
- The cover start and end dates
- Our address where your goods are stored
You must ensure your policy covers the same “Insured Perils” as detailed in Fort Knox’s Terms and Conditions. We will need to take a copy of your insurance policy and keep it on file with your lease agreement. These documents must be supplied annually as they expire.
Pricing Policy Explained
Standard invoices are paid monthly in advance. If you’re planning a long-term stay, we offer ongoing prepayment discounts. These discounts fluctuate weekly based on demand and availability, so give us a call to learn more. You’ll only ever pay for what you use, unless you’ve opted for a prepayment discount (13 or 26 weeks), in which case fees are non-refundable during the prepayment period. Fort Knox Self Storage reserves the right to remove prepayment discounts if accounts fall into arrears.
